ARM’s Joshua Barna, Staff Geologist, discusses the complexity of water movement in the karst system of Guizhou Province, China in his article “Variability in Groundwater Flow and Chemistry in the Houzhai Karst Basin” published in Environmental & Engineering Geoscience. Joshua and his coauthors explored groundwater flow by monitoring water parameters at multiple locations with varying temporal and spatial frequencies. Overall, the study refines widely applicable methods for studying karst systems, including dye tracing, and provides a foundation for future studies in similar settings.
