
ARM Group LLC’s Jarod Constable was invited to present on Well Site Construction to 28 Safety Management Major undergraduate students at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. The presentation was part of the Energy Exploration – SAFE 378 course. In addition to discussing safety in regards to well site construction in the Appalachian Basin, Jarod also touched on the initial phases prior to well construction, consisting of permitting, natural resources and geotechnical/geohazard investigations.
Prior to the presentation, Assistant Professor David Renz, CSP, MBA of the Safety Management Department was able to give Jarod a tour of Slippery Rock’s recently renovated Strain Safety Building. This state-of-the-art building features a 2,800 square foot high bay lab, including a 2.5-ton crane, 144 square foot confined space simulator, arc flash simulator, and a pipe array for lockout tagout application to teach students proper safety procedures with heavy equipment. Much of the equipment and displays were donated by safety vendors partnering with the SRU Safety Management program to provide the students a hands-on learning experience and prepare them for the workforce.
