Our project of the week is the 2018 Silver Builder Project of the Year! ARM Group partnered with EDF Renewable Energy in South Hadley, MA to provide geotechnical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering services for an 18 MW Annapolis Landfill Solar Project that includes 55,000 solar panels installed over 80 acres of a geosynthetic capped landfill. During this project, ARM Group coordinated with Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) and Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) to upgrade the design of the solar module wattage as well as perform shading analyses, electrical and geotechnical site inspections. The EDF Renewable Energy Solar Project helped Maryland comply with its requirement of obtaining 25 percent of their power from renewable sources by 2020. The solar park, which was built on a closed landfill in Annapolis, Maryland, is the largest ever constructed on a landfill cap in North America and produces about 24GWh of power annually.
As solar panel costs continue to decrease, now is the time to install a clean and cost-effective energy source for your business or community! Contact Tim Williams at TWilliams@ARMGroup.net to take your next steps into the future using renewable energy!
