Have you seen the news regarding changes to the PFAS MCL rule? The PADEP recently established Pennsylvania Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in drinking water.
Here are some highlights: MCL for PFOA is 14 ng/L ; MCL for PFOS is 18 ng/L; Method reporting limits have been set at 5 ng/L.
The rules go into effect January 1, 2024 for community and nontransient noncommunity water systems serving populations of >350 people (including all bottled vended, retail and bulk hauling water systems) and January 1, 2025 for community and noncommunity water systems serving populations of <350 people.
