Installing a solar array on abandoned mine lands (AMLs) can pose many challenges, but ARM Group is doing our part to help reimagine how we produce energy.
ARM Group is proud to have been a part of multiple successful solar projects developed on reclaimed AMLs. Our multidisciplinary experience allows ARM to help our clients navigate the additional design, permitting, and construction considerations associated with these projects. Unique solar services on AML projects may include comprehensive geotechnical investigations, specialized stormwater management considerations and designs, overburden analyses for potential acid-producing rock (APR) with neutralization plans, development of grading plans to meet racking slope tolerances, and working closely with the appropriate agencies to ensure that the project meets all mining and environmental permit requirements.
