ARM’s Participation in Coaches vs Cancer Results in Another Successful Year of Raising Funds for Cancer Research

armadmin • May 28, 2014

ARM’s sponsorship and participation in the 18th annual Coaches vs Cancer (CVC) Golf Tournament, hosted by the CVC-Penn State organization and the American Cancer Society (ACS) on May 30 th , resulted in an extremely successful event.

ARM joined the cancer fight, along with Penn State coaches and players, Big Ten network personalities, Nittany Lion Greats and other notable sports figures.  The golf tournament proceeds provided direct aid to individuals and families fighting cancer across the Centre region.  For the past several years, ARM employees have volunteered on the tournament’s overall planning committee and assisted with course set-up.

The two-day event began Thursday night with a Sponsor / Captain reception gala at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, featuring a silent auction, which provided additional funding.  On Friday, hosts and supporters swung their clubs in support of the annual cancer fight at the Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses.  An awards dinner at Beaver Stadium capped off the tournament events.

In 2013, the tournament and silent auction helped CVC-Penn State eclipse the $2 million mark in total funds raised since the program’s inception 17 years ago.  The year-round fundraising efforts assisted in providing live-saving patient services to cancer victims in the Penn State and Central Pennsylvania areas including the ACS Hope Lodge located in Hershey.  Hopefully, 2014 donations will exceed 2013!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the event.  ARM looks forward to your participation next year!
