
ARM Group Inc. has recently conducted a series of groundwater studies using state-of-the-art geophysical methods for several farms in south-central Pennsylvania. These studies have resulted in three new high-capacity wells for farm and irrigation water supply use. The old water sources on these farms had produced only modest flows of water and tended to lose capacity during dry weather conditions. The new wells that were sited based upon the recommendations by ARM Group Inc. have provided yields of several hundred gallons-per-minute and allowed one farmer to install a center-pivot irrigation system for his crops (see photos below). In addition, the higher yields supplied by the new wells provides a consistent source for watering livestock which has allowed an increase in milk production.
