AETA is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Panel Shop Technician to join our team of seasoned panel-builders, engineers and designers! You will be responsible for the physical assembly, wiring, troubleshooting and testing of electrical control panels in our UL508A panel fabrication facility located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.  ARM is an ISO9001 Quality Certified Company where you will become part of a team that takes pride in their work and focuses on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

The Panel Shop Technician will be responsible for taking a design set of drawings and accurately and efficiently producing a fully functional control panel. The technician will be required to receive and store material, maintain a neat and organized work area, and work with a team of engineers and technicians to complete projects on time and within budget. The technician will be working in a shop environment using a variety of hand and power tools. Safety is paramount at ARM Enertech.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Interpret electrical power and control schematics to accurately fabricate a control panel.
  • Mount electrical and mechanical components to back-panels and doors as per shop drawings and hardware specifications.
  • Wire equipment with proper conductors, terminations and color codes as per design drawings.
  • Test and troubleshoot circuits for proper functionality with multimeter.
  • Operate wire and lamacoid tag machines which require basic computer skills.
  • Work with power tools and hand tools in a safe manner.
  • Receive deliveries and promptly process and store material in the appropriate lay-down area.
  • Handle material safely with the use of pallet jacks and small chain hoists on a regular basis.
  • Organize material and documents for concurrent projects.
  • Travel on occasion to support installation and commissioning of projects. Travel may include trips to our panel fabrication shop located in Johnstown PA.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Secondary education or technical degree in an electrical field is preferred.
  • Experience as an electrician, wireman, or control panel technician is a benefit.
  • Proficient with the use of power tools and hand tools.
  • Dependable and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able and willing to travel including overnights
