IT Administrator

Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, strong computer systems competency, and the ability to work as a team player.This is a technical, “hands-on” role, dedicated to managing and administering the company’s IT system components. The successful candidate will be responsible for selection, implementation and auditing of all security technologies, selection, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s application servers, ensuring appropriate back-up and disaster recovery planning and practices are being followed, establishing and maintaining user connectivity and function, implementing software and hardware upgrades, help-desk support and management, troubleshooting/resolving issues concerning network and desktop/laptop performance, and providing or overseeing direct employee training. Related duties will include administration of CAD and GIS systems, license management, vendor interface, A/V systems, telephony, and software applications, all to ensure proper functioning of these systems. 

A qualified applicant should possess a positive, “can do” attitude and have excellent communication, scheduling, budgeting, and follow-through skills. ARM has five office locations (four in PA, and one in MD) and approximately 140 employees (~100 requiring IT support).  Candidate should plan to travel to each of ARM’s office locations at least once per quarter.  This position reports directly to ARM’s COO.        


  • A degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent training and experience;
  • Five to ten years (minimum) of recent IT experience providing comprehensive technical support services across end-user desktop and laptop, telephony, hardware repairs, database applications, server and network configuration, and operations;
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008 and newer, Windows7 Pro and newer, Cisco Meraki and Catalyst switches, Wi-Fi, VPN and remote-employee setup, VoIP, Peerlink Replication, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 migration and administration, MS Office Suite 2010 and newer, software procurement, and asset tracking.
  • Ability to travel to ARM’s various office locations, presently including: State College, PA; Canonsburg, PA; Scranton, PA; Columbia, MD; and ARM EnerTech Associates offices in Mechanicsburg and Johnstown, PA.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to the end-user in management of equipment and infrastructure support, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Experience with cell phones (iPhones, Samsung, etc.) and video conference equipment and infrastructure a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS software installation and configuration a plus.
