Environmental Consultant/Project Manager

Environmental Consultant/Project Manager – Mid- to senior-level environmental consultant.  Qualified candidates must demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Oversees a portfolio of diverse environmental projects and supervises technical staff;
  • Manages client interaction and financial and resource allocation;
  • Provides project oversight and expert technical input on complex projects;
  • Reviews and approves project related documents and deliverables;
  • Evaluates subsurface characteristics for remediation projects, remedial system design, and regulatory negotiations; and
  • Conducts performance reviews and project team meetings to review current and future projects, discuss and manage project and/or employee issues, and staff workloads.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams to complete environmental assessments, permit applications, reports, and proposals;
  • Providing quality assurance reviews of technical reports, proposals, and communications;
  • Making presentations and representing ARM at external meetings;
  • Providing exceptional client service;
  • Engaging in ongoing communication with project stakeholders and regulators;
  • Employ keen risk analysis and risk management skills so that contracts and proposals are favorable for successful project outcomes (profits, reputation, compliance, safety, etc.) and protective in the event of dispute, breach, accident, etc.; and
  • Travel as needed to perform all of the above-listed duties, and accurately and promptly tally and submit expense receipts for all business expenses incurred. Travel may include overnight stays. Work hours may range from 40 hours to 60 hours per week, partly influenced by project commitments, conference attendance, dinner meetings, client outings, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in geology,  environmental science, engineering or a related discipline;
  • 6+ years of related experience;
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of Pennsylvania’s environmental regulations;
  • Phase I/Phase II, report writing, client interaction, and supervision experience are a must;
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently;
  • Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate that they have been able to maintain an account for an extended period of time as a result of client satisfaction;
  • Must be able to support business development through client retention, marketing, cost-control, and effective proposal writing;
  • Must possess excellent communication, teamwork, analytical, organizational, technical writing, and client service skills; and
  • Professional registration (P.E. and/or P.G.) preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database software required.
