Field Technician – 0-5 years


This position will involve monitoring and support with of a wide range of investigation and construction projects related to the solid waste and oil & gas industries.  Candidate will receive on the job training to support geotechnical, geophysical, and hydrogeological investigations; environmental engineering projects; erosion and sediment control inspections; and construction project inspection, testing, and documentation.  Proper reporting will be mandatory in a timely fashion.  Candidate should have the desire and ability to travel and support a wide range of engineering and environmental projects throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and the mid-Atlantic area.  Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player.  Ideal candidate will have construction labor or observation experience.


High School Diploma (or equivalent), 2 Year vocational, or college degree preferred. MUST have the ability to lift 30-60 lbs from the floor to 2′, occasionally lift 60-100 lbs from the floor to 2′ and frequently carry 30-60 lbs for 10-30′. Occasionally carry 60-100 lbs for 10-30′, stand for up to 8 hours, often on uneven surfaces and move for up to 8 hours with frequent bending and stooping. Occasional outside work in inclement weather and travel for extended periods are a possibility.  The salary range for this position is set at $16-$20 per hour.

The person to be accepted for this position MUST have a valid driver’s license without restriction.  The person must have personal and reliable transportation to allow him/her to get from the residence to the work place and return. The person MUST pass a drug screening and a background check.

Field Technician – 3-5 years


GSET is seeking a full-time Field Technician in Canonsburg, PA. Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication, the ability to read and understand site-specific Water Management Plans (WMP), metering/intake plans, groundwater protection plans, and spill prevention I response plans. Excellent organization skills are necessary as well as experience with Microsoft Office. Previous Safeland training in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspection of fittings/valves along fresh and/or produced water pipelines and storage and transfer facilities in accordance with site-specific plans. Candidate will also prepare field inspection reports including field notes and photo logs. This position requires applicant to be able to walk rough, icy, broken terrain; go up and down steep hills and slopes; and work in extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions.


A qualified applicant must have any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school, 2-year vocational school, or college degree, plus two years of work experience. Candidate must have the ability to transverse difficult terrain and to work in extreme temperatures and inclement weather. Travel for extended periods is a possibility.

Candidate must have a valid driver’s license without restriction. Senior Oil and Gas Engineer

Senior Oil and Gas Engineer:

ARM Group Inc., a growing and employee-owned ENR Top 500 multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm with over 200 employees and 10 offices, is currently seeking a self-motivated mid- to senior-level civil/geotechnical engineer to focus on the oil & gas market from our Pittsburgh office, located in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in civil and/or geotechnical engineering, permitting, construction-phase engineering, and project management aspects of upstream and/or midstream oil and gas projects.  Experience should include at least 2 years of working in the Appalachian Basin.  

The successful candidate will be a seller-doer and possess an “ownership mentality”, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, adaptability, and be team-oriented.  The position will require that the candidate establish client relationships, define client needs, develop winning strategies, write proposals and generate sales in the Appalachian Basin oil and gas industry.  The candidate will also be expected to manage multiple projects and budgets, provide meticulous quality assurance reviews, mentor junior staff, and promote other ARM services.  Thorough knowledge of PA, OH & WV oil and gas regulations is highly desired. 

A Bachelor’s Degree in civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering and a professional engineering license (PE) in PA is required and OH and/or WV are a plus.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience with AutoCAD, as well as successful experience attaining permits from PADEP, ODNR, and WVDEP.

Civil/Geotechnical Engineer – 0-5 Years

Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Professional 0-5 Years– Qualified candidates must demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills,  strong work ethic,  adaptability and teamwork skills. Candidate must have a BS or MS in civil or environmental engineering with 0-5 years of experience. Position will support a wide range of projects related to water resources, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control planning, geotechnical, construction administration, and permitting in support of the oil and gas and solid waste industries. Projects will also involve field inspections of soils, concrete, geosynthetics, pavement systems and erosion and sediment controls. Past construction inspection and/or field testing experience (including nuclear density gauge, ACI certification, or GRI/GSI geosynthetics installation experience) preferred.
