Construction Quality Assurance (CQA)/Civil Engineering Technician

Construction Quality Assurance (CQA)/Civil Engineering Technician – Position will involve monitoring and management of a wide range of projects related to solid waste facility construction (landfill liner systems, closure, pipelines, leachate and landfill gas collection and conveyance systems, stormwater, etc.), as well as field support and construction administration of geotechnical and environmental engineering projects, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and construction projects within the oil and gas industry.  Ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience and the desire and ability to travel and support a wide range of engineering and environmental projects throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the mid-Atlantic area.  Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player, including the mentoring and training of field personnel.

Projects will involve field inspections and quality assurance/documentation of soils, geosynthetics, pipe and mechanical controls, erosion and sediment controls, concrete and pavement.  Past landfill and geosynthetics construction inspection and field testing experience (including nuclear density gauge) is required.  ACI certification, GRI/GSI geosynthetics installation training, and radiation safety experience are a plus.  A BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related earth-sciences program is also a plus.

Civil/Geotechnical Engineer – 0-5 Years

Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Professional 0-5 Years– Qualified candidates must demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills,  strong work ethic,  adaptability and teamwork skills. Candidate must have a BS or MS in civil or environmental engineering with 0-5 years of experience. Position will support a wide range of projects related to water resources, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control planning, geotechnical, construction administration, and permitting in support of the oil and gas and solid waste industries. Projects will also involve field inspections of soils, concrete, geosynthetics, pavement systems and erosion and sediment controls. Past construction inspection and/or field testing experience (including nuclear density gauge, ACI certification, or GRI/GSI geosynthetics installation experience) preferred.

IT Administrator

Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, strong computer systems competency, and the ability to work as a team player.This is a technical, “hands-on” role, dedicated to managing and administering the company’s IT system components. The successful candidate will be responsible for selection, implementation and auditing of all security technologies, selection, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s application servers, ensuring appropriate back-up and disaster recovery planning and practices are being followed, establishing and maintaining user connectivity and function, implementing software and hardware upgrades, help-desk support and management, troubleshooting/resolving issues concerning network and desktop/laptop performance, and providing or overseeing direct employee training. Related duties will include administration of CAD and GIS systems, license management, vendor interface, A/V systems, telephony, and software applications, all to ensure proper functioning of these systems. 

A qualified applicant should possess a positive, “can do” attitude and have excellent communication, scheduling, budgeting, and follow-through skills. ARM has five office locations (four in PA, and one in MD) and approximately 140 employees (~100 requiring IT support).  Candidate should plan to travel to each of ARM’s office locations at least once per quarter.  This position reports directly to ARM’s COO.        

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

  • A degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent training and experience;
  • Five to ten years (minimum) of recent IT experience providing comprehensive technical support services across end-user desktop and laptop, telephony, hardware repairs, database applications, server and network configuration, and operations;
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008 and newer, Windows7 Pro and newer, Cisco Meraki and Catalyst switches, Wi-Fi, VPN and remote-employee setup, VoIP, Peerlink Replication, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 migration and administration, MS Office Suite 2010 and newer, software procurement, and asset tracking.
  • Ability to travel to ARM’s various office locations, presently including: State College, PA; Canonsburg, PA; Scranton, PA; Columbia, MD; and ARM EnerTech Associates offices in Mechanicsburg and Johnstown, PA.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to the end-user in management of equipment and infrastructure support, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Experience with cell phones (iPhones, Samsung, etc.) and video conference equipment and infrastructure a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS software installation and configuration a plus.
