Solid Waste Engineer

Solid Waste Engineer – ARM is currently seeking a self-motivated senior-level solid waste engineering consultant. Candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in solid waste planning; waste management facility design, permitting, and operations support; and construction oversight and certification. The successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, an “ownership mentality”, and establish client relationships, define client needs, develop winning strategies, prepare proposals and generate sales in the Mid-Atlantic region solid waste management and environmental markets, as well as promoting other ARM services.   Thorough knowledge and application of MD and VA solid waste regulations is highly desired.  Knowledge of PA, DE, and NJ solid waste regulations desired, but not required. 

Candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects that produce comprehensive permitting and construction drawings and demonstrate proven sales and project management experience. A Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and PE license are required.  An MS degree is a plus.

Civil/Geotechnical Engineer 0-5 Years

Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Professional 0-5 Years– Qualified candidates must demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills,  strong work ethic,  adaptability and teamwork skills. Candidate must have a BS or MS in civil or environmental engineering with 0-5 years of experience. Position will support a wide range of projects related to water resources, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control planning, geotechnical, construction administration, and permitting in support of the solid waste industry. Projects will also involve field inspections of soils, concrete, geosynthetics, pavement systems and erosion and sediment controls. Past construction inspection and/or field testing experience (including nuclear density gauge, ACI certification, or GRI/GSI geosynthetics installation experience) preferred.

Sr. Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Civil Engineering Technician

Sr. Construction Quality Assurance (CQA)/Civil Engineering Technician – Position will involve monitoring and management of a wide range of projects related to solid waste facility construction (landfill liner systems, closure, pipelines, leachate and landfill gas collection and conveyance systems, stormwater, etc.), as well as field support and construction administration of geotechnical and environmental engineering projects, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and construction projects within the oil and gas industry.  Ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience and the desire and ability to travel and support a wide range of engineering and environmental projects throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the mid-Atlantic area.  Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player, including the mentoring and training of field personnel.

Projects will involve field inspections and quality assurance/documentation of soils, geosynthetics, pipe and mechanical controls, erosion and sediment controls, concrete and pavement.  Past landfill and geosynthetics construction inspection and field testing experience (including nuclear density gauge) is required.  ACI certification, GRI/GSI geosynthetics installation training, and radiation safety experience are a plus.  A BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related earth-sciences program is also a plus.

Civil Engineering Technician – Position will support a wide range of projects related to geotechnical, construction administration, water resources, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and the oil and gas industry. Ideal candidate will have 1 to 15 years of experience, and the desire and ability to travel and support a wide range of engineering and environmental projects throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the mid-Atlantic area.  Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as a team player.  Projects will involve field inspections of soils, concrete, geosynthetics, pavement systems and erosion and sediment controls.
